They both seemed like real competitions to me, since neither of them was made up and both of them had a winner and some games
The League Cup is clearly rubbish but rather than whinge about it why wouldn't you just field a load of squad/youth players. Mourinho seems to have done both which is slightly odd.
He has personally extracted a lot of benefit from it in the past. He's been moaning about winter breaks recently though so it's probably a corporate instruction.
They could use the free time to fit in another branded noodle marketing drive, so corporate instruction is probably about right.
Stuart Pearce on THE DEBATE reckons money messes young players up, not because they get lazy with it, but because they buy massive houses ('they think they have to') and isolate themselves in shitty environments. I hadn't really thought of it like that. Phil Neville is just wibbling about jewellery and saying 'money hasn't changed Jordan Henderson'.
Yeah now he wants a Champions' League place for the League Cup winners. Psycho, mate.
I've been enjoying this one. Pearce is always right on the cusp of having a great point and then his brain disappears into the backdrop.
This academy closing stuff is catching on. Few league clubs will have one eventually, and then where do the players come from?
Crewe and France.
Reality TV shows. Contestants are entirely players doing Youtube videos of tricks and flicks in their garden.
It's the second leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals this week. Bolivians Jorge Wilstermann shocked River Plate 3-0 at home in the first leg.
Surely they'd park the bus in the second leg? The return leg has just passed half time, they tried, but River Plate have just gone 5-0 up.
Bolivians at sea level might as well be disabled
Sounds rigged

Corner to Wilstermann, River player picks it up on the edge of his box, strolls 70 yards past three defenders and scores. Like FIFA on easy.
You'll not see another football game like this.
