As you've probably all heard, today is the 25th birthday of the Premier League.
25,800 goals, 49 different teams and BBC are streaming the first MOTD on their website and via the red button tonight at 10pm for some reason.
Anyway, I suppose I wanted to know your favourite moments of the last 25 years, your favourite players and favourite games.

Tiote's against Arsenal or Cisse against Chelsea are probably the leading contenders for me. I remember exactly where I was for those, where as earlier memories feel like they've been recorded over by YouTube versions.
I've caught a couple of good moments live, too: Titus Bramble scoring a scissor kick against Chelsea to win 1-0 and Robbie Savage getting knocked out by the ref (though we lost).
The era when I gave a shit was all billowy shirts and Man Utd not winning everything was big news, thinking about it brings to mind:
- The Blackburn team that had Wilcox and Ripley out wide.
- Le Tissier scoring into those really shallow nets they used to have at The Dell (I may have imagined this but it's in there true or not).
- The Lightning Seeds GOTM music.
- Alan Shearer being just so ridiculously brilliant.
- 'Europe' being this mystical place where all the teams were so much better and the players seemed like fabled legends that you only really saw at the World Cup or Euros.
- All this being fields etc etc etc
- And weirdly enough this goal from Chris Marsden:

Bergkamp at Newcastle just about sums it up for me.
Also, there's no way Chris White was ever good enough to get away with that hair.
The Marsden line might be just about the best thing ever done in football.
The Europe point is so spot on. I miss landing a quarter final and thinking a British side has done really well to get that far. Apart from Arsenal who seemed to crack the Cup Winners Cup early on.

I always enjoyed The Big Match Revisited on ITV3/4/whatever it was. Don't think they show it anymore. I'd definitely watch more old MOTD.

But mainly all the classic Man United v Arsenal games at the peak of their rivalry. The Ruud van Nistelrooy missed penalty was one of the most dramatic moments I can remember.
Martin Keown's reaction would probably qualify as a hate crime nowadays.
His first goal for us was direct outside the box against Wimbledon. Batty lobbed Sullivan in the same game. One week after the Beckham lob. I have never seen any other player score a tee-ed up indirect free kick resulting from a handled back pass.

I miss the 'old times' in football. As others have said, it's probably an age thing, but everything just seemed so much better in football around twenty years ago.
Sincere's trivia thread is a nice escape to those times at times.
Late 90's/early 00's when I knew basically every player in the Premier League
I was looking at Watford's squad on Saturday's MOTD and don't think I knew anyone in there.
I used to love watching Ginola back in the day. Players like him, Merson, le Tissier, Hadji, Carbone, di Canio, Juninho, Vialli, Ravanelli. There was mystique and intrigue. It wasn't over done, everyone wasn't written off within minutes or hours of YouTube compilations.
I think it was only a few years ago when the 'who the fuck is he?' moments started creeping in, but these days I don't expect to have heard of a footballer if he's been signed from outside the prem. It doesn't feel like I'm really into football these days - just into Newcastle - though I guess compared to your average nonce I definitely am into football. When Man Utd signed Martial that was the first I'd ever heard of him, which seems a world away from being able to recite the majority of squads in the division years ago. I think that was the most detached I've been from football generally though, the whole thing of Cov playing in Northampton was still fresh in the mind.
I've definitely talked about this a few times before but it definitely used to be that more teams would indulge a flaky twat for that one game in three where he'd do something special. Now you have this obsession with organisation being the key to taking on top, top, top of the market teams.
Jose Dominguez was the best for that. Tiny fella in a massive kit, doing absolutely nothing for ages between spells of looking like the best player in the world for five minutes.
It feels like there were so many memorable moments from the 90s and early 00s (mostly including United for me, to be fair), many of which have been mentioned already.

It might be because I'm older, but it feels like there are less memorable moments thesedays. I can't think of many in the past decade other than the obvious winning of trophies. This one stands out:
Most of mine are obviously Chelsea centric and mostly involve our random ambushes of United at Old Trafford before we were good. Abramovich's arrival marked the point when it all became a bit sterile (or more likely the point when I became old enough to be cynical).
As a kid growing up in the mid to late 90s, Manchester United was literally the only show in town and was bigger than the sport in some ways (the hangover from this is how boring they are to hear about now) so getting one over them felt huge.
I remember being terrified of Chelsea before the 1994 FA Cup final becuase Gavin Peacock had scored two identical winners home and away in the league. He then hit the bar at 0-0 in the final.
93/94 United was the best of all Ferguson's teams, for me, Clive. Perfectly balanced. The '99 lot were a bit flash and got lucky.
I barely watch anything that isn't Arsenal these days but fuck me if I can't remember exactly where I was sitting when Zola scored the winner against Stuttgart in the old Cup Winners Cup final.
