I'm not sure that was the reason why he was perma banned, if memory serves (although John may not even have publicised it in the Office at the time). I think he had some big data dump of users' personal info, which got him banned, and that was possibly later on.

Big dump of users personal info = used the forums own search engine for 'fantasy football' and copied the list of managers names from the last page of the premier league and champions league fantasy football threads, that Spav had posted. Posting them all as one list just as realnamegate was getting started (included Magic being worried that people searching for one of the most famous professional basketballers of all time, Magic Johnson, would find his posts) got me a two week ban. Then came the John stuff.
I remember Ital PMing me really not being arsed about anything other than how his name was on the list, so I told him the fantasy football thing, but by this point all the fantasy football threads had been deleted, and I hadn't saved the list, so I've still no idea what Ital's name is. Although s/he didn't believe me anyway.
By the way wasn't this like seven years ago now? Give it a rest.

Well that was an absolutely fascinating read given what has happened over the last couple of days. If you read Offshore's recruitment thread and then this one followed by the WWE Promo one that has been locked then it really is like someone is toying with you all. I didn't know whether to post in here or in the what a day thread but it's certainly a good effort by all involved.
This bit sticks out like a sore thumb. Smiffy, Lee, Brush all leaving for similar reasons, Giggles being happy which seemed to take people by surprise, more of the meltdown nonsense (I think I get it now) and obviously me boosting this isn't going to help but Christ. You're all actually crazy!
