How is leaving the floodlights on all night a security measure anyway? Unless they're trying to stop burglars the same way my gran does, by trying to make them think someone's home.

Needed Giroud on that one. Greasy is too short.

I guess trying to stop people being able to lurk around in the dark and plant explosives.

Islamic militants are terrified of moths. Big chapter in the Koran about them.

I wonder how the rest of the world sees us? I know we think we should be doing better than we do (and we really should), but surely our track record has the rest of the world looking on us and our chances as we do with a team like, say, Denmark.

Yeah but your Gran (I assume) doesn't live in a massive stadium, having the lights on makes surveillance quite a bit easier.

Probably better to have them on than not. The risk is high so you do what you can.

I've wondered this, are we basically Spain from the 90's?

Flat track bullies in qualifying who aren't anywhere near where you think you are compared to top teams. And it's been a long long time since you were.

I was ambivalent before Ronaldo went off (lol at him doing panto dame on the stretcher), but now I'm well up for some sailor twat arriving at the back post with a glass of port and a navigator's hat to bundle in a 98th minute winner.

Foreign players sometimes talk us up when interviewed here, but I never get the impression it's genuine.

I think most see England as one of the big nations. Can probably thank the BPLSBB for that.

He's a physical beast, but has about as much upstairs as Anne Frank.

Did I miss the story about Martial fucking Deschamps' wife and wiping his cock on the curtains? It must exist, because there's no other reason you don't put him on against a sluggish defence playing higher and higher up the pitch.

You're never winning when Moussa Sissoko is the one with the most shots on goal in a game.

The 4-2-3-1 leaves Pogba so far from the box. Kind of a waste, he's a better attacking option than Sissoko surely.

Yeah he's better in a 3 in midfield from what I've seen.

Edit: btw they've been 442 I'd say. Griezmann alongside Giroud last couple games.

Gignac's HRK moment there. Griezmann should really have mopped up the rebound.

Nah, like Reg said, he plays in a three-man midfield, as the outside midfielder. (we call it mezzala which means half-winger)
