A standing desk.
Printable View
All desks stand, dickhead.
Does it go high enough to hang yourself off looking at that wall all day?
Less of that people, come on. Jeez.
What desks for standing people? I agree
I've known two people who got standing desks and swore that it did wonders for their back problems, but they were middle aged ex-servicemen not spritely young lads with shoe collections.
I'd be looking at one of those at some stage soon, we had them at the office and they really are the shit.
Why is standing up better than sitting down?
It's all about posture. Think about how, sitting down, you've got to think about your back, neck and legs. Standing up, all you have to worry about is your desk is at the right height.
You also get to pretend you're a dj.
Get one of those man bras advertised on Instagram and sit your arse down.
I just get up from my desk plenty. Something that's a lot easier to do at home than in the office. And I stretch more.
30 minutes? It's barely 5 seconds. :D I was having genuine nerve problems in my shoulders when I was in the office and that's cleared up.
Standing up isn't necessarily better than sitting down, but the option to do both is amazing. I've had a dodgy shoulder and lower back for ages and I'm expecting both issues to evaporate.
How much was it?
I know it sounds like middle class 1st world problems on the surface, but I've deffo had far more irritation from rsi-esque muscle aches from sitting at desks and typing and shit than anything I suffered from when I did more manual stuff like stacking shelves. Admittedly that might just be because I've been a lazy, fat and slightly older bastard in the former jobs.
Picked up one of those blade beer machines this week. Great fun.
I need a fucking top, top pillow to sort my sleeping posture out. Anyone have a good one? Prepared to spend Abramovich money if need be.
@Baz
I want one of those but can't justify the outlay at present.
Baz will be along with an affiliate link shortly.
I have bought a pair of decent hair clippers, throwing in my lockdown effort of growing my hair and beard out as it has become increasingly like I look like I should be on some kind of register.
My household has 3 Simba pillows and they’re well worth the £99 price tag. They’re filled with weird styrofoam-style pieces that you can add and remove as you see fit to get the exact softness you desire.
My affiliate link is for 2 free pillows with the purchase of a mattress so is no use here.
A half hundredweight bag of sand.
I bought this at the start of the year and it's great. Banking on having elite athlete tier spinal health by summer.
I almost went for Tempur but the last pillow I bought was this one:

It's comfortable although I still think there are better options (of which I've already gone through quite a few).
Just scored one of these badboys second hand for £45
An Ooni pizza oven (wood chip powered version) and a proper ratchet hardcore wok burner to stir-fry/blow myself up/burn something down with
I’m here for it.
Do you have much other outdoor cooking stuff or just the Ooni? I bought a second hand Weber smoker last week that I'm in the process of restoring to go with my standard Weber kettle.
Like the idea of a pizza oven, just not sure I'd ever be organised enough with the dough when needed. Can you proof the dough and then freeze it?
The wok burner will also be for outdoors, but we don't have any other outdoor cooking stuff at the moment. Plan to get a Weber kettle though.
I'm not sure about freezing the dough.
I've frozen dough before without an issue.

Not my video but can confirm the wok burner goes like a jet engine as above.
Bought a bit of granite worktop off facebook marketplace and made a frame for it today out of timber. Outdoor kitchen project almost complete.
After posting in here I got one of those targeted Instagram ads and it was frozen dough from Ooni.
I think I'll get myself a pizza oven at the end of the year. I love cooking outside but have some family and friends who are vegetarian so would be nice to be able offer them something decent.
I really need a new laptop.
No sign of a decent pizza oven in the prime day sales so I'll leave that till black friday.
Bought a rotisserie for the weber instead, £80 down from £115.
Gon a get a chicken thigh kebab on the go this weekend.
I bought a new router in the Prime day sales:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Will use the older router too and set up an Asus AiMesh to reduce hotspots.
Also picked up an external SSD for my PS5.
Ordered a new TV. 55” LG G1.
Will look too big on my chimney breast and will certainly be too high to comfortably watch, but getting rid of the TV stand is worth it. Plus I got £800 knocked off.
Wall mounted TVs
Best place for them rather than chucked in a corner.
Boydy embarrassing himself.
Speaking of which, I cannot find a wall bracket for mine at all and it’s not even that old. I’m building a chimney breast at the minute and I’m having to put an inset into it.
I always find people who've wall mounted tv's do so at a shit height.
